Do you need a beautiful utensil jar? Look no further!Recently I challenged myself to make a utensil jar that worked well and looked great on a counter top. These forms are what I cam up with. Tall narrow forms, store a deceiveingly large number of utensils and spoons. They tuck in close to a wall or fit well in the middle of an island countertop with other counter stuff.   These forms have thick lips designed to be not easily bumped and chipped, so you can safely store utensils.  They also can double as a vase in a pinch!  These objects are thrown and altered to give  it a functional oblong shape. They are glazed with the thought of old paint cans in mind, fired, then sandblasted to give the exterior of the piece a soft matte finish.  In addition I hand sand each piece with wet/dry sandpaper to give them a soft and supple feel.
